Cedrick Glasper Bio:

Cedric Glasper acquired Mechanical Rubber Products Company in 1995. At the time, the award-winning rubber company located in Warwick New York, which had provided essential parts for the Lunar Module Spider and the US Navy Sea Devil submarine was in bankruptcy. Cedric has rebuilt the company, regaining its foothold in Aerospace, Defense, and Industrial markets and acquiring three other companies, Minisink Rubber (2000), Prestige Rubber (2015) and the Durox division of Wabtec (2020), expanding the company’s footprint into Transportation, Commercial, Marine and HVAC markets. In the 27 years since Cedric has taken the helm as President and CEO at Mechanical Rubber, the company has not only grown into a preferred global manufacturer, but has also added jobs to the New York and Ohio workforces.

In 2021, Cedric was recognized by Rubber News as Executive of the Year, with both his leadership and community service style being credited for his success. Cedric is a strong community-minded volunteer, who has used his expertise to advance the entire area. At Mechanical Rubber, he implemented a successful internship program for college students and an apprenticeship program to provide valuable work experience for those looking to expand their knowledge of manufacturing. As a local business leader, Cedric is a board member of the Council of Industry Southeastern New York and Manufacturer’s Association of Central New York, who fights for New York State’s support of its manufacturers. He is also a member of the Association of Rubber Product Manufacturers, the Ohio Manufacturers Association, and the Advisory Board of St. Anthony’s Community Hospital.

Cedric has held many executive positions in business and community-based organizations, including President of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce, Finance Committee member of the Community Foundation of Orange/Sullivan Counties, Chairman of the Youth Council for the Orange County Workforce Investment Board, Leadership Orange Board of Directors, and President of the Greater Greenwood Lake Revitalization Committee. For his many contributions to the Warwick community, Cedric was honored by the Greenwood Forest Farms Association, the first African-American vacation community in New York State in May 2012.
Cedric has steered Mechanical Rubber through two recessions, five presidential administrations and a global pandemic growing and improving as others are closing shop. Mechanical Rubber’s Quality Management System withstood the rigorous AS9100/ISO9001 certification in 2012, putting it in a position to work globally with top Aerospace companies. In 2017, Cedric joined APTA to expand opportunities in the Mass Transit markets. With focus on the defense market, Mechanical Rubber obtained MBE certification, joined ADDAPT, became ITAR certified, implemented all the cybersecurity requirements for NIST SP-800-171 and is working toward CMMC certification.

Cedric is currently sharing his time between Mechanical Rubber headquarters in Warwick, New York and Mechanical Rubber Ohio in Strongsville, Ohio; but he is keeping his eyes open for any and all opportunities to continue to grow his company.
