Experience Elastomers: A Day of STEM-Based Rubber Inquiries
October 11, 2017; 9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
We are excited to announce that a new component to our International Elastomer Conference will be featured this year! Through our Student Outreach Program, Rubber Division, ACS will provide hands on experiments that students from grades 9-12 can perform at the International Elastomer Conference and learn more about the rubber industry in the process. We are inviting area high school students to the conference to enjoy a day of STEM-based rubber learning with the goal of igniting interest and passion for the rubber industry.
There will be an area set up where the students will enjoy hands on experiments and learning activities. The rubber properties discussed will be physical, chemical, thermal expansion, network, density, friction and motion. Students will also walk the International Rubber & Advanced Materials In Healthcare Expo in teams and gather information to bring back and discuss at a forum in the student area.
If supporting student outreach in our industry is important to your company or organization, contact us to discuss how you can help make this initiative a success through sponsoring this program.
Sponsorship opportunities for this student program will be posted here once finalized.
